Working with other rescues....
The hallmark of good rescue is rescue working together for the betterment of their dogs…we are so fortunate to be able to work with the Animal Welfare Society in New Milford CT and the Newfoundland Club of New England’s Rescue Chair Lori Bryant … our goals are to find the best homes for the dogs in our care…we are so happy to help them after they have helped us…please view our adoption page…our dogs have been combined so the dogs and their perspective homes can be matched appropriately!
Please watch our Happy Tails page...we've had dogs come in...and with pre-approved homes waiting we were able to place almost instantly! We love this! So much better for the dogs!!!!! Keep in mind...applications...followed by home check = placement...don't wait to see what we have waiting...once we do all the preliminaries...YOU are ready to GO!!!
Please remember...if you are seriously interested in adopting...PLEASE STAY IN TOUCH WITH US!
Making the right match takes time... we never know when dogs are coming in... thank you for your patience!
A one year old male Landseer...a change in living situation has brought Louie to us...he is an energetic, sweet boy... a Marmaduke of the Newfoundland ... happy, loves everyone...is currently being vetted and will be ready to go to his new home soon! He needs space to move about ... traditional fencing ... watch for pics!
Mona is a four year old female Landseer...victim of divorce...she has been vetted and was found to be entropic...she is currently healing from eye surgery and doing great ... she is sweet and happy and needs a home where she can take strolls ... no heavy hiking ... possibly swim ... and be loved!
Mr. T is a 12 year old Min Pin who was lucky enough to run across one of our volunteers...Shyann brought him to TNP... he was neutered and checked over, updated on all ... a real sweetie...our friends at the Animal Welfare Society in New Milford CT have taken responsibility for finding him the perfect home!
Apollo the Lab
Still looking for the right home for Apollo...would prefer to be an only dog...would love the opportunity to swim...an amazing dog...never stops wagging his tail!
Apollo is a 5 to 6 year old black Labrador...gentle, great with kids, cats, other dogs, ALL people...surrendered due to owner relocating, Apollo has some skin issues that we will get under control before he goes to his new home. Much vet work done today January 20, 2014...waiting on blood test results to determine treatment plan... Please watch his progress on our site!
UPDATE....Apollo had an almost nonexistent thyroid function...and was 25 pounds under weight...after a couple of months of soloxine for his thyroid (a very inexpensive thyroid supplement) and good nutrition....he is right where he should be...his hair has grown in quickly... a few spots left...we are allergy testing currently...we have no doubt that when he leaves That Newfoundland Place...he will go on to lead a completely normal life with a minimum of medication...he is SUCH a good boy...and now we know he LOVES to swim!!!
We are still looking for the right home for Apollo. He has become one magnificent boy! He looks great and behaves like a champ! Stays right with you...comes when you call...amazing! He needs a home where he has access to swimming ... he will make a great addition to YOUR family!
Here's an updated picture of Apollo the Labrador! What a difference good food, exercise, and thyroid medication make! Such an easy and inexpensive fix! He is like a different dog!
We are looking for a home for Apollo where he will be an only dog...access to swimming in the summer months...and ideally a traditionally fenced yard ... yes ... a lot to ask...but he is worth it and we are waiting....he will be an amazing companion!!!
A STANDARD POODLE! Yes...you read that correctly! She is 12 and needed a new home...a Newf friend notified us of the need and she is here with us...settling in...we had her vetted...she has neurological issues that we are treating...Renee may be one of the oldies who takes up residence with us here in Coventry! She is doing so well with our dogs and is a LOVE!
Lucy and Stella
What amazing girls! They will be two in April...we've had them spayed and updated on everything...we are getting to know them...they are fun loving and sweet! They were loved and well cared for...due to family hardship, owner felt it more fair to the girls to re-home.
IF YOU HAVE COMPLETED AN ON LINE APPLICATION, PLEASE EMAIL US TO BE CERTAIN IT WAS RECEIVED. WE APOLOGIZE FOR ANY INCONVENIENCE AND THANK YOU FOR YOUR PATIENCE.
